LifePics recently introduced Spark!, an innovative new online sharing feature that allows consumers to merge their photos with music, videos, text, and graphics, and share their creations with anyone around the world, promoting retail photo sites through viral marketing techniques and online sharing. Part digital photo book, part slideshow, and part social networking site, Spark is a free service that is designed to attract more users to LifePics retail photo sites, and is available to all retailers and consumers in the LifePics network.
"Spark is amazing. I’ve showed a number of folks in our chain and the reception is great. One person said, 'This is on our website?' incredulously. They were stunned something so cool was on our site," said Howie Cohen, General Merchandise Buyer at The Bartell Drug Company. "Spark allows people to tell a story with their photos, videos, text, and music, while simultaneously promoting our site and brand by attracting new users. It trumps all of the other slideshow applications out there by bringing fun and creativity back into photo sharing!"
Users can create a Spark in a matter of minutes using photos they have uploaded to their LifePics online account, as well as photos from Flickr and Photobucket. MP3s can be loaded to a Spark from a user's hard drive or iTunes library, or from a selection of licensed music on the Spark Web site. Videos are embedded from YouTube, and text is created by the user directly in the Spark builder. Future releases of Spark will include the ability to post Sparks on MySpace, facebook, and other social networking sites, which will only increase the viral marketing capacity of the new LifePics technology.
"We wanted to give our retailers something that this industry has never seen
before," said Ken McDonald, Vice President of Marketing at LifePics. "Every
Spark that a consumer creates has the power to expose their affiliated retail brand
to the world. Spark is truly a win-win situation for our retailers and their customers.
Consumers now have a unique and creative way to tell stories and share memories,
and our retailers have a new marketing campaign that attracts more and more users
each day. It's not often that something like this comes along. Spark has no limits
on the amount of new users it will attract to our network."
